HSCSN’s Youth Athletic Program (YAP) is a sports program for children (5 and up) with special health care needs and others. Children play sports like t-ball, soccer, golf, flag football, basketball, and cheerleading.
Launched in 2007 with summer soccer clinics, the project initially targeted children of parents and caregivers who attended its support group meetings and was later expanded to include children of all abilities. Today, the program is designed to engage the children in physical activity, promote the importance of making healthy choices, and gain an understanding of various sports.
The program is a great way for your child to play team sports, make new friends, and gain confidence. At the same time, your child will learn discipline, courtesy, respect and team building.
The Youth Athletic Program has these and other activities throughout the year:
- Spring: T-ball clinics
- Summer: Soccer and golf clinics
- Fall: Flag football
- Winter: Basketball and cheerleading
We provide transportation to YAP events for HSCSN members.
This is a program of HSCSN’s Department of Family and Community Development. Learn more about how to volunteer with the Youth Athletic Program.
