Michael D. Ward, CPA, is a director in the professional services firm of BDO USAA, LLP, where he oversees accounting and financial management services for nonprofit organizations and serves as an outsourced chief financial officer to nonprofit organizations.
His work with clients include strategic financial management, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, assisting clients with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures appropriate to the organization’s work, and providing technical assistance in regulations surrounding federal awards and the development and implementation of the systems and processes required to account for federal funds. Michael was previously a partner with the accounting firm of Walker & Company and prior to that served as chief executive officer of the Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Institute, an agency of the Archdiocese of Washington providing services to children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities in the greater Washington area. Michael has also worked with MCI Telecommunications, Price Waterhouse and Deloitte & Touché. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University. Michael serves on the board for the Pediatric Center and the Foundation.
